Politcs, People and Progress

In first world nations inspired progress and growth appears to have been on hold for many years. Demise and diminishing quality of life is rampant and manifest. Poverty has grown to the point where it is grossly evident on the streets of all major cities globally.

However, there is one very exciting development taking place throughout the Middle East  Their people are rising up in protest against the despotic attitudes of their leaders and the abysmal quality of life affecting the masses.  The results are significant as dictatorships topple in one country after another.

At last evidence that movement is happening and, if allowed to continue, will undoubtedly preface a long overdue major change in attitudes.

We, in the western hemisphere have long listened to our politicians’ mantras that they control the world economies, the action, the growth and the third world. Since the first stock market collapse in 1988 we have been sliding further and further into a maelstrom of ongoing failures, use of repetitive practises and criminal practices that have left the nations’ peoples bereft and which are still continuing.  The only action of certainty appears to be one of constant replay of the same-old, same-old.

Undoubtedly, what’s occurring in the Middle East is the one event that, if allowed to take its natural course,  will herald a major change and involve adjustment.

I would refer you now to an article passed to me today. It is directed to each of us individually, prompting us to review and assess the individual wealth that exists within each of us. That we review our commitment, acknowledge the need for change and a more positive approach to humanity and what it means to each of us.

It certainly encourages us to pause and consider who we are and what it is each of us would consider to be desirable in terms of acceptable, safe and progressive in terms of our species.
